๐โโ๏ธ๐ถโโ๏ธ YES, WALK BREAKS STILL COUNT!Think you have to run nonstop for your workout to โcountโ?Nope.Run/walk intervals can be a great way to:โ
Build enduranceโ
Increase your time on your feetโ
Manage fatigueโ
Ease into running as a beginnerโ
Keep moving when continuous running feels toughAnd here's the important part:Taking a walk break doesn't erase the running you already did. ๐Some runners use run/walk when they're getting started. Others use it during long runs, races or hot-weather workouts. And some simply discover that it's the way they enjoy running most. There isn't one โrightโ way to cover the miles.๐ Run. ๐ถ Walk. ๐ Run again.Forward is forward.๐ How about youโcontinuous running, run/walk intervals, or walking?๐ฆ Saline County StridersDifferent Paces. Running to Remember โ 2,977 Miles. 2,977 Names. 2,977 Lives. On this September 11th, we remember the lives lost, the families forever changed, and the heroes who stepped forward. For U.S. Air Force Capt. Hanna Born, remembrance has become a mission measured one mile at a time. Her goal: run 2,977 miles โ one for every life lost on September 11, 2001.As runners and walkers, we understand that miles can mean more than a number on a watch. Sometimes, they can carry a story, honor a life, and help us remember.Never Forget.

๐ฆ STRIDER QUICK TIP: CONSISTENCY BEATS INTENSITYYou don't need an amazing workout every time you head out the door. Some days you'll feel great. Some days you'll feel slow. Some days a walk may be exactly what you need. They all count. One really hard workout won't make you fitโand one missed workout won't ruin your progress. What makes the biggest difference?๐ Showing up consistently over time.๐ Run when it's time to run.๐ถ Walk when walking is what your body needs.๐ด Rest when it's time to recover. Then come back and do it again.Don't chase perfect workouts.Build consistent habits.๐ Strong today. ๐โโ๏ธ๐ 7 WEEKS TO THE ARKANSAS 20K โ WHO'S UP FOR THE CHALLENGE?The Arkansas 20K is only seven weeks away! If you've been thinking about tackling 12.4 miles, now is a great time to start building toward race day. We've put together this simple 7-week, train-on-your-own plan for runners, walkers, and run/walkers who already have a basic fitness base. Start where you are, adjust the plan to fit your ability, and gradually build your long-distance endurance. And don't let the distanceโor your paceโautomatically scare you away! The race offers two starting options with the same 11:00 AM finish cutoff:โฐ 8:00 AM Regular Start: 3 hours to complete 20Kโฐ 7:00 AM Early Start: 4 hours to complete 20KThat early start can be a great option for walkers, run/walkers, or anyone who simply wants some additional time to complete the course. By the way, The early start is not intended for elite runners to beat the heat or get home earlier. If an early start participant finishes faster than 2:00 they will be credited with a finish time of 2:00 or disqualified. The goal over these seven weeks isn't perfection. It's consistent training, gradually increasing your time on your feet, practicing your fueling and hydration, and arriving at the starting line confident that you're ready for 12.4 miles.๐ Train at your pace. Run it. Walk it. Run/walk it. Make the finish line yours.๐บ๐ธ Arkansas 20K๐
